About Me
I know what it feels like to arrive somewhere new and have to figure it all out. I was born in Glasgow and moved to Germany at the age of eleven — young enough to learn German to a native-speaker level, yet old enough to fully experience what it felt like to be an immigrant, every confusing process, every seemingly random rule, every moment where the language felt like a wall between me and understanding what was happening.
That experience has never left me, and it shapes the way I work with every client.
I studied law at the University of Trier and completed my legal clerkship across some of the most interesting jurisdictions I could find — including Berlin and Cape Town. After qualifying as a lawyer, I worked in the public service before focusing my legal practice on immigration law.
Today I am a member of the Berlin Lawyers' Association, the German Bar Association (DAV), the German Association of Women Lawyers (djb), and Amnesty International.
Why I consult in English
German immigration law is detailed and, frankly, not easy to navigate — even for people whose German is perfect. I consult in English because I want you to understand what is happening in your case: the options available to you, the risks, the timelines, and the reasoning behind every decision. Legal advice only works if it's truly accessible — and it should always be tailored to you individually.
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Your situation is specific to you — your history, your goals, your circumstances — and your legal advice should reflect that. I take the time to understand who you are and where you want to go before I tell you how to get there.
I advise clients throughout Germany — consultations take place by video, so you can work with me from any city, or from abroad before you move.
